The holidays are officially underway in Bend, and this weekend is packed with festive events that bring our community together. Whether you’re looking for cozy traditions, family-friendly fun, or an excuse to get out and enjoy the lights, I’ve rounded up the best local happenings to help you make the most of the season. Here are a few of my can't miss events going on this weekend.
Holiday light tour | Now until Christmas
The Bonny Bridge neighborhood (SE Bend, off Ferguson Rd) will not disappoint! Hop in the car with a hot cider or hot chocolate, turn on the Christmas tunes, and enjoy the lights. These homeowners go all out for the holidays!
Winter nights at the High Desert Museum | Every Thursday until December 18th from 4-7pm
Seasonal themes, cookie decorating, storytelling, drink tasting, music, and a chance to experience new exhibitions and engaging activities for all ages! More info here.
Letters to Santa | From now until December 14th at the Old Mill
Drop off your letter to Santa (with a return address!!) at a North Pole Express Mailbox at the Old Mill. Santa will send you a reply!
Holiday First Friday | December 5th from 5-8pm at RE/MAX Key Properties 42 NW Greenwood
Join in on this Frist Friday Holiday Makers Market at RE/MAX Key Properties. Open to the public!
Bend Christmas Parade | December 6th at 12pm in Downtown Bend
A local favorite to watch or partake in. This year's theme is "A Storybook Christmas" and is a don't miss event!
Christmas Tree Lighting | December 7th at 6pm in Drake Park
Live Music, holiday treats, Santa, and festive cheer!
Tumalo Pop-up Market | December 6th & 7th starting at 11am at The Bite
Don't miss the 7th annual holiday market at The Bite! You can expect art, artisan jewelry crafts, and textiles at this holiday market.
The Nutcracker Ballet | December 8th & 9th at 7pm at the Tower Theatre *tickets required
The Grand Kyiv Ballet presents the legendary Nutcracker. A holiday classic!
Holiday Ice Skating
Bend has multiple ice rinks. Check out the Bend Parks and Rec Pavillion, End of the 7th Mountain, and Sunriver ice rink.
Horse Drawn Wagon Rides | December 6th-24th at Brasada Ranch
Head over to Brasada Ranch for a sunset horse-drawn wagon ride. Think cozy blankets, views, and a "holiday postcard" vibe.
